Alexandra Block, M.A., A.M.F.T., is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (#128731) with Yoffe Therapy. She is extensively trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment, and Client-Centered Therapy. As an adoptee herself, she utilizes these skills in her work with people all across the adoption and foster care spectrum. She has experience in working with the particular difficulties that can occur all across the lifespan and for all members of the family adoption triad. She works with couples and teens.
Alexandra holds her M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, she focused her studies in Spiritual and Depth Psychology — an integration of mindfulness, transpersonal, and Jungian modalities, where the therapist’s goal is to help the client unite their conscious with the unconscious in a quest for wholeness and spiritual connectedness. Alexandra formerly worked with clients across the age and gender spectrum at Counseling West where she utilized Sandtray therapy, at the Emotionally Focused Resource Center in Pasadena focusing on seeing couples and families, at the Burbank Family Service Agency, as well as at Interactions Treatment Center treating those struggling with addiction. She has the experience and extensive training in crisis management and suicide prevention through Didi Hirsch and is ASIST certified: competent in assessing and addressing crisis situations, suicidal thoughts, behaviors, and applying interventions.
